Last day of training before the meets!

1. Snatch: 70% x 1 x 3
2. Clean and jerk: 70% x 1 x 3

Just about time to GET AFTER IT this weekend! I hope you all are planning on taking a rest day tomorrow if you're competing on Saturday down at Thrush, or at LEAST a rest day Saturday if you're competing on Sunday in the gym meet. Hopefully everyone's had a chance to get recovered and is feeling good and ready to ATTACK heavy weights FEARLESSLY this weekend!

Things are looking great for the gym meet. Again, entry fee is $20 but includes a free t-shirt. Prizes are going to be sick...a free month's membership is on the line for the overall winner of the men's and women's divisions based on Sinclair total. There will also be some fun prizes: a "best dressed" and a "best victory dance" at the least, so you better take this into consideration as you are planning your wardrobe for Sunday! Obviously, a team Industrious singlet will earn you major points in the best dressed category! Don't forget to sign up for the meet on Mindbody.

For those not competing on Saturday, I encourage all of you to come down and support the SIX Industrious athletes who are! It should be a really fun time. The last update I saw yesterday had 18 total men and 18 total female lifters, with more entry forms rolling in. The lifting is scheduled to start at 10:30 I think with the men under 77 kg, but as of yesterday there was only 2 men signed up in that category, so that session may be combined with the afternoon 77 kg + classes. I will do my best to keep everyone updated as I find out more, but as of now I am planning on being down there at 8:30 AM for Tommy's weigh-in.

For anyone interested in joining in on the fun to be had in our weightlifting program, it is a PERFECT time to get involved. We are starting a whole new cycle after this weekend, which begins with a Fundamentals week next Tuesday. If you make only one day next week, make it Tuesday. This is the perfect way to get started in the program. We will break down the movements piece by piece with LOTS of stick and empty training bar work. This will also be a great opportunity for veterans to get a refresher and really take some time to focus on fine tuning your technique. No matter what level you are at, you should be doing technique work REGULARLY.
