Clean and jerk: 1RM; 3 sets of 2 reps @ 85%

Press (behind): 3RM; 1 set of 3 reps @ 95%, 2 sets of 3 reps @ 90%

I want to take a moment to recognize two incredible individuals. Two incredibly inspiring, amazing athletes, who exemplify hard work, dedication, and above all else, sportsmanship. It's no secret that I'm talking about our own fearless leaders, Coach Molly and Coach Stephen. Both Molly and Stephen represented Industrious this weekend at the CrossFit NW Regional qualifier to the Games, and they represented us better than anyone could have imagined.

I've been around CrossFit for something like five years now, and have been around competitive CrossFit in some way shape or form for the past three or four years. To me, CrossFit has always been about fitness, health, and quality of life, and competitive CrossFit has just been a way of expressing that improved fitness and having a good time with other like-minded individuals. Most of us don't do CrossFit to win the Games, we do it for life, and we have fun doing it. In the growing realm of competitive CrossFit, this isn't always the case anymore, and there are plenty of athletes that are just "in it to win it", and I witnessed this first-hand this weekend from a number of athletes. But not from our own. Never. Molly and Stephen continue to demonstrate for us all what it's always been about, and it is truly an honor to say that I belong to Industrious with them leading us all by example. With smiles on their faces all weekend, they went in to battle not against their fellow "competitors", but against the workouts themselves. They left it all out there, each and every workout, just as they do each and every day in the gym. And when they had finished all of their reps, they were the first to cheer on any fellow competitors still fighting to finish within the time cap. You can see Stephen in the photo above doing just that, just as excited to see his fellow competitors succeed as to succeed himself.

At the end of it all, I got to witness something I will never forget, as Stephen was recognized in front of all of the judging staff for his incredible spirit and sportsmanship throughout the weekend. No awards, no public announcement, just our selfless, enduring Steve-o in front of a unanimously nodding judging staff as one of the head judges said a few words recognizing him as exemplifying the spirit of the games.

Oh, and by the way, they both absolutely KILLED it this weekend too. Stephen finished up the weekend 27th, and Molly 13th, jumping way up from where they finished in the Open. Thank you guys for continuing to remind all of us what it's all about, each and every day.
